St Mary's Catholic High School Rocks the Radio!

Choose St Mary's.
St Mary’s Catholic High School recently visited Rock FM as part of the station's BOOM Radio project, which gives students and communities the platform to have their own online radio station to broadcast the shows they have created. The group of St Mary’s pupils will launch their own one hour online radio show and entertain listeners with their selection of music, interviews and features.

Programme Intro

The programme is part of a fantastic radio project organised by 97.4 Rock FM in Preston to encourage wannabe journalists and DJ’s to develop their communication skills and get more involved with their local communities. The St Mary’s team took on roles of presenters, newsreaders, creative writers and marketers.

Paul Collins a pupil from St Mary’s who took part in the project and even got to produce and then star in his own radio advert, says: "It was a fantastic experience! It was great to be in a working radio studio and learn how to put a radio show together and it was even better to listen to our show when it aired on BOOM!"
