Over the past month the Design Technology department has been trialling a series of project based homeworks. These activities are aimed at developing pupils’ creative and independent learning skills. The projects included: designing jewellery using recycled materials; the ‘ultimate electronic gadget’; furniture design and a promotional gift for the London Olympics 2012. Some of the pupil responses have been outstanding and the department would like to thank pupils for their tremendous effort. Listed below are the pupils who deserve a special mention for the quality of their work whether it be practical work in class or homework.

Rewards
As part of the rewards system in school the department has been “heat pressing” the initials of pupils onto their PE kits free of charge. Two year ten pupils, Tania Munro and Emma Reilly helped do this during their lunch breaks. In the space of six days they managed to press the initials onto over 200 PE kits. The department would like to thank them for their help. Anybody who chose a different reward last term can have their initials pressed onto their PE kit at a cost of £1. This service will be available after Easter on a Thursday lunch time.
