Italy, Bay of Naples - 15-19 July 2012 - Bay of Naples Geography trip, Our flights have now been booked and we are flying on 15th-19th July from the East Midlands Airport

Year 8- Colomendy Trip October 2012

PGL Adventure Holiday October 2011


Several KS3 Students took part in an adventure course during the October Half Term. Activities included the zipwire, assault course, kayaking, fencing, quad biking and other teambuilding activities.

Y12 River Study


Y12 students studying Geography took part in a field study collecting data from the River Eea in the Lake District. The weather was excellent!!



Italy Field Trip

Students who have opted to study Geography or Travel and Tourism for GCSE. took part in a five day study tour to the Bay of Naples in July 2011, at the end of the summer term. 
The purpose of the trip was to study volcanic hazards and the impact of tourism on people and the environment. Activities included:
A drive along the Amalfi coast. 
An excursion to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius 
A full day tour to Phlegrean Fields
An excursion to Capri Island with Hydrofoil. 
Some leisure time in Sorrento.

Iceland Field Trip

 


6th Form Geography Students spent their February Half Term in Iceland on a field trip studying Glaciation and Volcanoes. Their travels took them to Rekyavik, Gulfoss, Thingvellir National Park, the Great Geysir, the Blue Lagoon and Skogarfoss amongst others.


Y9 Peak Venture Visit


Students from Year 9 took part in a Water Sports Adventure Weekend at Peak Venture Centre in the Peak District. Activities included archery, a leap of faith, problem solving, raft building, kayaking and zip wire. More pictures of these activities may be viewed on the gallery pages.


Y8 Colomendy Visit


Year 8 students recently visited Colomendy in North Wales for a weekend of Adventure and Team Building. Activities included caving, fencing, an assault course, a team challenge and climbing.

Year 10 Field Trip

Year 10 Students recently visited Liverpool on a Controlled Assessment Trip to look at the regeneration of Liverpool and to investigate whether Liverpool One is an example of sustainability in the 21st Century. Their visit also took in the Albert Dock, the Liverpool Wheel and the Mersey Ferry

 

Y11 Controlled Assessment Field Trip to Liverpool and Wallasey

Year 11 Students recently visited Liverpool and Wallasey to study Urbanisation and Tourism as part of their Geography Assessment. They visited the Maritime Museum and the area around Albert Docks, crossed the Mersey by ferry and looked at the tourist provision in Wallasey.



Y12 Field Trip

Y12 Geography students recently went on a River Study Field Trip to Wales. In spite of the inclement weather, students developed new skills using a variety of equipment to measure and record river flow.
