Inspire Me – Guest Lectures
The Inspire Me series of lectures have been set up this year for our Sixth Form. It has involved our students being able to attend a number of lectures presented by individuals who are superb role models.
The series was started by a previous student from St Mary's Dominic Goggins who currently works for CAFOD as a parliamentary advisor. Students have also had the opportunity to meet Peter Dunning, a Para Olympian, Jordan Oldbury, a current medical student and last month our local MP Andy Burnham joined us for a lively question and answer session.
The most recent lectures entitled “Tolerance” was presented by Sylvia Lancaster, the mother of Sophie Lancaster. It has been a pleasure to hear the positive comments from our guest speakers who universally praised the maturity and enthusiasm of our sixth form students.
