Philosophy and Ethics
This is an option in Year 12 and 13. It is a very popular option at A level which has seen a sharp rise in numbers over the past 2 years.
Philosophy covers all the arguments about the existence of God and gives more ultimate questions, than it does actually answering them! Many students find this element interesting and very thought provoking.
Ethics covers all the ways in which we act, and how our behaviour may or may not be controlled by imposing ways of living and rules. It also covers issues of War and Peace, Euthanasia, Abortion and Genetic Engineering.
The subject area is taught by Mr Welsh and Mr Osindi.
