Since September, our Sixth Form has raised an outstanding amount of money for a variety of charities, totalling £476.20 between September–December.
In October, for CAFOD we raised £48.83, followed by a fantastic £172.20 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, by doing a ‘Uniform Day’ and having donation boxes. We supported the Rainbow Trust Foundation by selling teddy bear keyrings to the years below, from which we received £119.00, and also the National Blind Children’s Society, by a ‘guess where the bear comes from’ event, which raised £50.00.
However, we haven’t only fundraised for national charities, but also for local charities. By extending a teddy bear raffle across the high school, as well as Sixth Form, we raised £86.15 for a local, Manchester based charity, Cash for Kids. We are dividing the money from our next charity event, which will be held in April, between two or three local charities, in order to make a difference in our area and areas close to us.
Currently, we are supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation through donation boxes, and have raised £42.02 to date. Once we have achieved our target of at least £50.00, we will continue our efforts and will support the charity, Save the Children.
